John Alite Was Not A Major Drug Dealer

During the 2009 Charles Carneglia trial John Alite testified that he made millions of dollars selling cocaine and said he had “About 150” people working for him in the drug trade (Direct, 3307):

But, George Anastasia must have known that was a little outrageous because in their book (page 102) he scaled John Alite’s lies back and only wrote that he told a jury he had several dozen guys working drugs for him.

However: you have to be pretty smart to make millions of dollars and have “150” or even just several dozen employees selling drugs (or anything else) for you which is probably why George Anastasia didn’t include in their book what John Alite also lied about in his speech at The Mob Museum.

There, on the stage, in front of a live audience at 56:13 he said that: “I had 300 guys working for me.”

Surely something George Anastasia would have harped about in their book if it was even remotely true.

Can John Alite name these “300,” “150,” or even just the several dozen employees who he and Anastasia claim worked for him?

Obviously not so let’s go to another claim John Alite made during the Carneglia trial when he was trying to convince the jury that he was an intelligent, major, multi-millionaire narcotics trafficker.

Not only did he allege that he was one of the biggest drug dealers in New York City, he swore under oath (Direct, 3305) that he controlled the cocaine trade and was its sole supplier in all of the following neighborhoods:

But if John Alite really was one of the biggest drug dealers in New York City and the sole supplier of cocaine in all of those neighborhoods?

One smart enough to employ “several dozen” to “150” people or more selling drugs for him?

One thing he definitely would not have got wrong is the following.

When he was asked by the prosecutor what a kilo is?

John Alite testified that one kilo only breaks down to ONE pound of cocaine.

Carneglia (Direct, 3291):

When, according to the Metric System, Google conversion and common knowledge one kilo equals just over 2.2 pounds of cocaine:

Why didn’t George Anastasia include in their book that John Alite was too stupid to know that?

John Alite was not a major drug trafficker. He just tried to act like one on the stand to convince the jury that John A. Gotti was one as well, not only to smirch his name, but to make him eligible for the death penalty because that’s what ordering a drug-related murder can get you.

He lied that Gotti ordered him to commit drug-murders (that in reality he, John Alite did on his own) to get John A. Gotti not just a life sentence but the needle as well.

Why? So John Alite could escape his own life sentence for his crimes by blaming them on Gotti and walk out of Witness Protection with a lucrative book and movie deal based on his lies and John A. Gotti’s federal execution.

UPDATE– July 6, 2026: At the time this article was published in 2016, I believed John Gotti Jr.’s story that he did not sell drugs when he was in the streets. However, at a later date, he admitted to me that he, John Alite, and certain others (who I will not name) extorted drug dealers and profited from drug dealing. John Gotti Jr. told me, “If that means we sold drugs, then we sold drugs.”

As for my writing that John Alite lied that John Gotti Jr. “ordered him to commit drug-murders (that in reality he, John Alite did on his own)”— at the time I wrote that, I believed that John Gotti Jr. was innocent of involvement in the murders that John Alite said he did at Gotti Jr.’s direction. However, I can no longer stand by that statement.

I worked with John Gotti Jr. between 2015-22. In that time, this website and my investigative work defended him from the smear campaign John Alite and his cohorts launched against him. But in the time since I stopped working with him, John Gotti Jr. and his alleged half-sister Angel Gotti engaged in their own smear campaign against me, trying to damage and discredit me with lies. They even falsely accused me of crimes, implicitly threatening to get me indicted based on lies if I did not do what they wanted, and have had lawyers send me legal letters filled with lies, threatening to sue me based on lies.

I have challenged them to file their bogus lawsuits, which they have not done. However, at this time I am suing John Alite for defamation in Monmouth County Superior Court, New Jersey.
